When we first developed our Ecommerce division here at Four Star Greenhouse, we were one of the few suppliers shipping plants directly to the consumer's door. Since then, we have continued to develop our processes and methods to make sure we remained at the forefront of this industry trend.

Ecommerce at Four Star Greenhouse has been the fastest growing aspect of our business for several years. It is our intention to keep this momentum going. Therefore, we are looking to add some high performing people to our ambitious team. Ecommerce Design Specialist

Ecommerce Fundraising Coordinator

This position is new to the department and will administer the implementation of programs and develop our online fundraising and engagement programs by executing effective strategies and techniques via email, website promotions, and other digital channels and methods to meet established growth expectations. The Ecommerce Fundraiser will collaborate with the team to create a plan for digital fundraising and engagement activities, developing and implementing marketing strategies to support successful fundraising activities across the organization.

We are looking for someone with customer service and fundraising experience. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated self-starter with an outgoing personality and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Section Grower Team Leader

At Four Star Greenhouse, we recognize that our employees and leaders are our most valued resource. We are looking for an approachable leader who is passionate about helping others grow. A Team Leader at Four Star Greenhouse provides inspirational leadership for daily and specialized assignments like pesticide applications, crop care techniques or advice on insect and disease identification.

They will strive to engage a team of growers to create and foster, a respectful and safe working environment. This position will mentor, oversee, and guide our Section Growers on a day-to-day basis using positive leadership techniques, to ensure they are receiving training and have the expertise needed to produce our crops to meet our quality specifications. A Team Leader will also play a large role in supporting our Growers by creating SMART goals to achieve and by providing positive feedback and continuous encouragement.

The Team leader will act as a liaison between the Product Line Managers and other departments, to ensure messages are accurately communicated and implemented as needed. They will also function as an advocate for all Section Growers regarding equipment repairs or upgrades and help obtain needed supplies.

Greenhouse Product Coordinator and Growing Team Leader

Four Star Greenhouse Inc. is the leading Proven Winner supplier in North America. Our state-of-the-art facilities are one of the largest in the country with approximately 30 acres of Greenhouses located in Carleton, Michigan. In addition to our 30 acres, we work with multiple contract companies to grow our pristine crops during the peak season. The Greenhouse Product Coordinator and Growing Team Leader will be a multifunctional role. We are looking for an experienced grower to lead our section growers as well as help coordinate product distribution and oversee quality at our offsite growing locations. This position will also work to maintain and expand our relationships with our contracted facilities and growers.

The Greenhouse Product Coordinator and Growing Team Leader, during the peak season, January-May, will physically visit our off-site facilities to provide expert support. Travel will be limited to day trips, approximately 1 day per week. The Greenhouse Product Coordinator and Growing Team Leader will be communicating weekly production plans for material produced at our off-site locations while maintaining accurate inventory. This position will also mentor, oversee, and guide our section growers on a day-to-day basis, to ensure they are receiving training and have the expertise needed to produce our crops that meet our quality specifications.

Maintenance Assistant

Do you enjoy troubleshooting, problem solving and using your hands? Do you find fulfillment in fixing equipment and overcoming challenges? If this sounds like you then we would love to hear from you, because Four Star is currently looking to hire an entry-level Maintenance Assistant.

Our business is modeled after an assembly line manufacturing facility, but the difference between our company and others is that we produce beautiful living plants. We have 30 acres of greenhouses, over 4 acres of outdoor growing area, 4 warehouse/service buildings and a couple office buildings too. In our facility we have lots of technology and automation including soil mixing equipment, shipping and sorting lines, sticking robots, booms, and other irrigation machines, which are maintained by our maintenance department.  

The Maintenance Assistant will be a key member of a small team that is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and building greenhouse structures and equipment. The goal is to keep our facilities operating safely and efficiently. They will be asked to complete various tasks and work under the mentorship of our current maintenance technicians, inside our greenhouse facilities. Our Maintenance Assistant will help respond to maintenance requests through our ticketing system and complete all required documentation to close these cases. A successful Maintenance Assistant at Four Star Greenhouse will gain the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience for potential career growth.

Class A CDL Regional Truck Driver: 75 CPM + Pay Guarantee

Four Star Greenhouse – Family Owned & Operated in Carleton, MI

Drivers will transport our horticulture products and other contracted commercial loads to customer destinations across the U.S. primarily in the Midwest, East Coast, Southeast, and Central U.S. regions covering annual mileage in the range of 75K- 85K per year.  Drivers are front line ambassadors for Four Star with our customers.  Drivers will assist dock teams as appropriate with loading and unloading of horticultural products at Four Star and customer sites. Most commercial loads will be no touch.

• Compensation:
• Mileage Rates: 75 CPM for Extended Distance Loads > 200 Miles/day
• Base Hourly Rate: $27.50/hr. Worked for Less than 200 miles/day
• Paid Detention at Hourly Rate
• Potential Safety Bonus - $1,200 paid out quarterly over each year
• Initial 90-day raise opportunity
• Annual raise opportunities
• 4 Weeks of Paid Time Off in first year of employment

• Home Time Minimums:
• (January–June): Weekly home minimum of two nights, often consecutive.

Section Grower

If you would like to turn your passion for growing into a career, we will train you to grow plants as a Section Grower inside our 25+ acre greenhouse complex. Section Growers are the caretakers for our crops. Once trained, this position is responsible to decide what to water, when to water and how much to water. Applying fertilizers and making other applications are additional functions you would learn. Growing quality crops in time to ship to our nationwide customer base is the end goal.

We offer a competitive wage and benefits package. We prefer to hire full-time year-round but we may also be open to a seasonal full-time schedule working from December through mid-June.

Job summary is to correctly perform the cultural requirements needed for each crop in such a way to produce quality plants, on a consistent basis, with minimal losses, and as efficiently as possible. Maintain the growing area to meet the sanitary and organizational standards of the company.

This position starts at $17.25 per hour for the entry level candidate. Starting pay may increase based on relevant skills, experience and education. We pay a $2/hr shift premium for weekend work. We pay time and a half for all hours worked past 40 hours in a week. We offer the opportunity for a merit increase after 90 days and annually thereafter.
