Czechmark Trilogy®

Weigela

General Information GROWING TIPS

Heavier blooming than a typical weigela, with flowers that contain three colors at once: white, pink, and red. This low-maintenance shrub blooms in spring and summer and does not require deadheading. It attracts bees and hummingbirds and resists deer and rabbits. Weigela are excellent landscape plants and work well in perennial and flower gardens as well. They perform best when planted in full sun, but some shade in hotter climates can be beneficial. If pruning is needed, do it immediately after flowering. Weigela in the Czechmark series were developed in the Czech Republic.

Weigela are excellent plants for creating privacy or screening off an unsightly feature like an air conditioner. They also make excellent landscaping plants and work nicely in perennial and flower gardens too.

Maintenance Notes

Weigela are not fussy about soil or care. Plant in full sun for the very best floral display, but some shade isn't too harmful, particularly in hotter climates. Regular pruning is not strictly required; however, if you wish to prune, do so immediately after flowering. Weigela are very resistant to damage from rabbits or deer.
