Has lime green leaves set off with a bold, black margin. Like all variegated plants, it will occasionally revert, but it reverts to all black, so will not overgrow the plant. A light crop of red-pink flowers appears in late spring.

Uses

Vibrant foliage looks best when used in shrub borders, mixed borders, edging, groundcover, and in containers.

Maintenance Notes

Prefers well-drained soils but fairly adaptable to other soil types.  If necessary, prune immediately after the spring bloom. Best flowering occurs in full sun, but light shade isn't harmful, particularly in warmer climates.

If desired, fertilize in early spring with a granular fertilizer formulated for woody plants, like a rose fertilizer.
